Union Hierbas Serranas tastes mild and refreshing, with three kinds of mint producing a complex cooling sensation that feels natural rather than icy. Hierbas Serranas combines peppermint (Mentha piperita), field mint (Mentha spp.) and poleo (Marsypianthes chamaedrys, Argentinian pennyroyal), all natural components with no artificial additions. How do you drink Union Hierbas Serranas?
Prepare Serranas with the standard mate method: fill your gourd three quarters full, add lukewarm water and then hot water at 70-80°C. This mate is particularly well suited to cold tereré (recommended), where the mint flavours and the cooling effect come into their own perfectly in warm weather. The herbal cooling character combines excellently with ice. You can also use the French press method: steep 1-2 tablespoons per cup for 3-5 minutes. The mint flavours become more intense with hot water extraction, and the flavour holds up across multiple refills throughout your whole session.
